PrivacyPrivacy and Personal informationLiz has extensive experience in the area of privacy training. In 1999, she developed the program used by the NSW Privacy Commissioner to introduce the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act across the whole NSW public sector. The brief was to develop a training package to inform NSW public sector agencies about their obligations under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, (PPIPA), 1998. The program included a detailed guide to the development of Privacy Management Plans to set out how they are going to comply with the Act. The program also included:
Health Information PrivacyIn 2000, she was engaged by NSW Health to develop a series of three training packages directed at different levels of responsibility for information privacy protection within the NSW public health service. The target audience were staff across all areas of NSW Health including clinical service delivery staff, research, administration and all levels of management. The brief was to develop a training package to inform NSW Health staff and management about their obligations under the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act, 1998. In 2002, Liz was asked to develop a training program for private sector health service providers on the health information privacy amendments to the Commonwealth Privacy Act, 1988. The client was the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for the Committee of Presidents of Medical Colleges.
